We know that it is tough to find a therapist that really knows how to treat child and adolescent obsessive compulsive disorder.
You might want to run away from your therapist if... A Top Ten List from BossBackOCD written by "Dr. Hopper."
_______________________________________________________________________ 10) The therapist says it is all your fault (mom, dad, anyone).
9) The therapist asks you: "What is ERP (or CBT or DSM-IV)?"
8) The therapist says that your child (or you) were potty trained too harshly or any other Freudian nonsense.
7) The therapist does not start things off with the YBOCS or C-YBOCS.
6) The (C)YBOCS given is 1/2 a page and is filled out by you or your child without any guidance from the therapist.
5) Your therapist, when asked about PANDAS says his clinic does not go in for "that 70's hocus pocus stuff."
4) Your therapist has a "day job."
3) Your first session lasts 4 1/2 hours.
2) The therapist locks the clinic door before beginning.

NOTES: This list is based on true personal experience: I am not joking! Each of the items on this list actually happened to us! Here is one that did not make the list but probably should have: "Question: For how long was your child breast fed?"
Someone, please tell me what that has to do with obsessive compulsive disorder and the treatment thereof!?!?
